Each celebration is a unique opportunity to embrace our shared values, connect with nature, and celebrate the journey of growth and learning that defines our school. The Ceremony of the Rose
The first week of school marks a rite of passage for first-grade children; it begins their journey into formal education. All grades gather with parents and teachers, and the early childhood center is also invited.
Each first-grade child is welcomed with a rose by an older student.
Autumn Equinox
This Maya festival celebrates the birth of the new sun, symbolized by the sprouting corn kernel.
B-Brave Day
Now, we focus our willpower and confront our fears as we enter the year’s shortest days—light triumphs over darkness in the form of Michael conquering the dragon.
Lanterns Festival
On the night of November 11th, we walk in the darkness, carrying our lanterns. We listen to the story of the generous Martin and sing while illuminating the path with our lanterns.
Advent Festival
We celebrate the arrival of the spirit of peace and happiness in our hearts. The spiral of lights represents the journey we take in search of our inner light and how we emerge into the world illuminated.
Candlemas
It is a community celebration where we express gratitude for the stillness that winter brings and bless the seeds that will bring a radiant and prosperous spring.
Spring Equinox
This festival celebrates the universe’s connection to earthly life. Bringing the image of flowers and the community impulse brought by bees, we come together to celebrate the hope of a new day.
May Day
We celebrate family, life, and the upcoming summer. Children dance around the Maypole, and we all participate in traditional games and share delicious food.
Bonfire
It is an ancient festival where we seek to strengthen and purify the sun’s power and align with nature’s strong impulse. We celebrate the end of the school year with the traditional Saint John bonfire.
