Elementary

  • Learning at The Woodlands Forest School is a dynamic and immersive experience. Our approach integrates the accredited academic curriculum from Hokku Academy through its digital LMS platform. Students engage in grade-specific subjects using this digital platform for specific daily periods.
  • In addition to traditional academics, we embrace a project-based learning approach. This method involves students working on cross-disciplinary projects aligned with their learning goals. These projects encourage the practical application of knowledge and critical thinking.
  • Within our Forest School component, students have the unique opportunity to learn directly from nature. Nature becomes our classroom, providing hands-on lessons about the environment, sustainability, and outdoor skills. This approach nurtures a deep connection to the natural world while fostering curiosity and a sense of wonder.

The Woodlands Forest School offers a well-rounded and engaging educational experience that prepares students for a future filled with knowledge, curiosity, and environmental responsibility by combining accredited academic content with project-based learning and nature immersion.

To enrich the learning experience, we have implemented multi-grade classrooms. In one setting, we divide lower and Higher Elementary into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades, while in another, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades learn together. This unique arrangement not only enhances learning but also fosters a deep sense of respect for one another.

In our multi-grade classrooms, older students have the opportunity to mentor and support their younger peers, creating a nurturing and collaborative learning environment. Younger students benefit from the guidance and example set by their older counterparts.

This approach enriches the educational journey and instills valuable life skills, social empathy, and a sense of community among our students. It reflects our commitment to holistic education and the well-being of every child in our care.
